I more get stressed out because I'm totally indecisive when it comes to food and am nervous that I'll pass something up that I'll want later (such as dessert)--and by then, it's too late. Hence never having gotten a Shapiro's dessert. That being said, the corned beef is oh so tasty, and I do kinda like the gruffness in contrast with the sometimes-TOO-nice Midwestern attitude. :)beffuhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05685152612447399576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-952244324226941600.post-40441767856911617612011-05-24T13:29:42.658-07:002011-05-24T13:29:42.658-07:00You will usually get more friendly service at the ...You will usually get more friendly service at the Carmel location. Also, you just need to ask for the applesauce (it's free).Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00394088596962871993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-952244324226941600.post-8298081879574625832011-05-23T21:23:28.788-07:002011-05-23T21:23:28.788-07:00Hey, Tom! I try to go into Shapiro's thinking of the staff there as family members or friends who like to give me a "hard time." Sometimes I'm just not able to do that, though. Either way, I definitely think it's worth warning folks about. If, like you, they enjoy a certain level of grumpiness, they'll probably get a kick out of the experience. If they prefer friendliness and smiles, then they may not. I think we can all agree that the food rocks, though!Corey Michael Daltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02328367289538333678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-952244324226941600.post-82340171919616870732011-05-23T07:38:03.608-07:002011-05-23T07:38:03.608-07:00I found this review to be hilarious (in a pleasant...I found this review to be hilarious (in a pleasant sort of way). Perfect anecdote. I think it depends on how thick your skin is and whether you have a certain appreciation for grumpiness... for me, Shapiro's is a welcomed slice of gruff East Coast / Jewish delis. But I certainly understand feeling kind of worked over by the time you sit down with your food.Tom Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05707908109402031352noreply@blogger.com
